Quinta de Sant’Ana do Gradil Wedding Photographer
Quinta de Sant’Ana do Gradil is one of the most romantic wedding venues in Portugal — a family-run vineyard estate nestled in the hills of Mafra, just 45 minutes from Lisbon. Known for its yellow-colored walls, rustic chic vibe, and timeless beauty, it's the perfect backdrop for couples dreaming of a destination wedding surrounded by vineyards, history, and authentic Portuguese hospitality.
Why Choose Quinta de Sant’Ana for Your Wedding?
I always find myself inspired when I return to Quinta de Sant’Ana. This historic estate blends old-world charm with laid-back sophistication. From the sun-drenched courtyards to the vine-covered hillsides, the entire space feels cinematic and personal — a true dream to photograph. If you're envisioning a vineyard wedding in Portugal with warm tones, historic character, and space to celebrate outdoors, this venue has it all.
What stands out most to me are the ceremony locations framed by the estate's iconic yellow buildings and the views that stretch out over the vineyards. The intimate courtyards are perfect for al fresco dining, and the venue offers flexibility with the option to dine indoors as well. I especially love the tradition of gathering everyone for a group photo in front of the main house — it's become an iconic moment in many of the weddings I've captured here.
What truly makes Quinta de Sant’Ana special is how everything is handled in-house, so you don’t need to worry about a thing during your wedding day. From wedding planning to florals, catering, and even their own locally produced wine, the team here ensures a seamless experience. They also offer charming guest houses on the property, allowing couples and their loved ones to stay and fully enjoy a relaxed, multi-day celebration. Even though it feels like a countryside escape, it’s just a short drive from Lisbon, making it easily accessible for international guests.
A Real Wedding at Quinta de Sant’Ana
I've had the privilege of photographing multiple weddings at Quinta de Sant’Ana, and each one has been uniquely special. When I captured Alana & Mason’s wedding here, I witnessed everything that makes this place unforgettable. Surrounded by vineyards and the estate’s yellow buildings, their guests were welcomed with local wine and delicious bites during the cocktail hour. One of the most memorable local treats served — and a personal favorite of mine — is Tibórnia — Mafra bread drizzled with olive oil, garlic, and a sprinkle of salt — incredibly simple, raw, and unbelievably tasty. The evening unfolded in the courtyard with candlelit tables, laughter, and dancing under the stars. The golden-hour portraits among the vines were some of the most beautiful I’ve ever captured.
With every celebration I've documented here, it's clear that Quinta de Sant’Ana offers space for both elegance and intimacy — perfect for weddings with 50 to 150 guests. Whether you’re planning a multi-day celebration or a single dreamy evening, this venue adapts beautifully to your vision.
This wedding was also featured on Chic & Stylish Weddings, which beautifully showcased the atmosphere, emotion, and charm of the day.
